Editing values from hidden addresses in RegEdit

Rezolvare problema (Fix IT)

Situatie

In some situations, we need to make changes in the registry editor at addresses that are implicitly inaccessible. Such an example can be seen in the following screenshot:

To gain access, we will need to run regedit as the “system” user – we have chosen the nirsoft AdvancedRun utility because the reputation of the creator shows a high degree of trust, including due to his long presence on the Internet.

Solutie

  1. Download, extract and run AdvancedRun from the manufacturer’s website, select Run As SYSTEM User, and for Program to Run type or paste %windir%\regedit.exe:
    https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/advancedrun-x64.zip

  1. If the application could be run successfully, we can notice the appearance of new sub-folders:

Note: This tool is not necessary for creating publicly undocumented registry values/keys as they can be used by applications/drivers/etc even if they did not exist initially.
