To change the background image on the Mail app, use these steps:

Open Mail app on Windows 10.
Click the Settings (gear) button in the bottom-left corner.
Click the Personalization option from the Settings flyout menu.
Under the “Background” section, choose one of the background images or themes that include a wallpaper with matching color.
(Optional) Turn on the Fill entire window toggle switch if you want the wallpaper to expand to the left navigation panel.
(Optional) Under the “Colors” section (at the top), choose a different color that matches the background color scheme.
