Launch the BSoD troubleshooter
  1. Open the Settings app and go to Update and Security.
  2. In the left menu, select Troubleshooting.
  3. Select BSOD in the right pane and click Run Troubleshooter.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete troubleshooting.

Run an SFC scan
  1. Go to Search, type cmd, and open a command prompt as administrator.
  2. Enter the following line and press Enter: sfc/scannow
  3. Wait for the process to finish.
  4. If the tool detects a corrupted system file, it will automatically repair it.
  5. Now close the command line and restart your computer.

Running DISM
  1. Right-click on Start and open the command line (administrator).
  2. Type the following command and press Enter:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
  3. Wait for the scan to complete.
  4. Reboot your computer and try the update again.
