Situatie
You have a WD My Passport external drive but ended up forgetting the password to unlock and access the drive.
Solutie
The only way to regain access to the drive is to reset (and lose its contents but its better than never being able to use it again) it using the WD Drive Utilties that should already exist on your device but in case it is not already installed i will leave a link where it can be downloaded for your operating system.

Run the WD Drive Utilities app.
You will be asked to enter your password and unlock the app.You will have to enter anything wrong 5 times in there.After the 5th wrong attempt,you will be given the option to reset and wipe the drive.This process will reset it back to factory settings and will be as good as new.You will be notified when the process is complete.
You can then create a new password or leave just keep using it without setting one.
